Exquisite Handmade Wire Jewellery and Sculpture from West-Wales.
Designer-maker and photographer
Ric specialises in copper jewellery and sculpture, often taking inspiration from the beautiful Welsh countryside in which he lives with his family.
His copper wire work is free flowing and harks back to an era when curves and swirls were all the rage. Often highly polished, his work also allows the natural patina of copper to develop in the details of the designs, giving them great depth and character.
His miniature wire sculptures of trees are also entirely hand made with just a pair of round nosed pliers. Each individual branch, twig and leaf is carefully placed in an exacting interpretation of how a real tree grows and develops.
Having retired from a career in IT, Marnie now enjoys creating unique pieces of jewellery using the traditional techniques she was taught as a child by her mother and grandmother, but with new materials.
Using fine enamelled or plated copper wire, hand crocheted or braided into beautiful shapes and sizes, her work grows into beautiful light and airy pieces that combine colour and texture with strength and flexibility. By adding beads and crystals to the mix, the required amount of sparkle can be added which results in truly unique work.
Marnie particularly enjoys working to commission, complimenting a particular outfit of occasion being a speciality. Because of the hand made nature of her work, no piece is ever repeated.
Our work is available direct from us or at Crafts Alive in Llandeilo and Elephants & Bananas in Carmarthen.
